What to Know Before You Order

Most natural materials, including animal parts, feathers, shells, bone, and rawhide, show variation in color, size, and texture. That is normal. If you need exact color matching for a large project, order all your materials at the same time.

Artificial sinew is the most commonly misunderstood material for new crafters. It is a waxed, twisted polyester thread that splits into finer strands. For beadwork, split it down to one or two strands. For stitching leather, use it at full thickness.

For background on what these materials are and how they have traditionally been used, visit the Materials & Symbolism section.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you sell wholesale quantities?
Yes. NativeCrafts.us prices are wholesale-to-the-public; no resale license is needed. Buy one item, or save when you buy in larger quantities. Check each product listing for pack size, price break levels, and per-unit price.

Are the animal parts and feathers legal to buy?
All animal materials are legal under U.S. federal and Washington state law. We do not sell parts from eagle, hawk, or other protected migratory birds or endangered animals. Contact us before ordering if you have a question about a specific item.

What is the difference between crow beads and pony beads?
Crow beads are larger (typically 9mm) with a wide hole suited for heavier cord and leather lacing. Pony beads are smaller with a narrower hole that works better on thinner thread. Both are glass. Economic plastic beads that are the size and shape of crow beads are also commonly marketed as “Pony Beads.”

Can I return craft supplies?
We accept returns on unused, unopened items within 30 days. Natural materials that have been handled or cut cannot be returned. See the full Refunds & Returns Policy.

Do you carry items for making regalia?
Yes. Jingle cones, feathers, conchos, bone and horn beads, leather, sinew, and animal parts all apply. We do not usually carry finished regalia.
