These free form abalone beads are highly polished on both sides of the bead and have a lovely bluish iridescent sheen. Each abalone shell nugget is approximately 1/2" x 3/8" and roughly rectangular in shape for the most part. Because these are natural abalone free formed pieces, there will be some variation in shapes.

They are sold as a 16" strand. The one I counted had 34 beads, but this might vary slightly.
