This is a full golden pheasant body pelt with the feathers attached to the dried skin. Tail feathers are not included and most do not have heads or the upper neck hackles. However most have at least a few of the orange banded neck feathers still attached.

You get a wonderful array of colors and textures in this pelt, which contains hundreds of feathers ranging in size from about 1 1/2 inches(3.81cm) up to 5-6 inches(12.7cm-15.24cm) on the wing feathers. Most feathers average about 2 – 4 inches(5.08cm-10.16cm) long and around 3/4″-1″(2.54cm) wide.

Golden pheasant feathers are used in fly-tying for dozens of different fly patterns. They also make interesting jewelry and are a quick start as pads on feather fans, masks, and wall hangings. They make beautiful decorated baskets and are stunning dreamcatcher feathers.

Feathers on the golden pheasant range from irridescent greens to deep blue, bright red, gold, rust, and mottled browns with black spots, or cream edges.
