This eagle ceremonial rattle is made from a real gourd on a hardwood handle and is decorated with simulated eagle feathers, black coque feathers that have a natural greenish sheen, and colorful red and gold Golden Pheasant feathers.
The handle has a section of rabbit fur with turquoise and multicolor glass seed beads beaded in the midsection. The beadwork will be the same colors but the pattern may vary slightly from the rattle shown, since each one is unique.
The base of the handle is wrapped with brown buckskin. The feathers are held on with glass crow beads.
It is filled with sacred corn, squash, and bean seeds, and a little sand for a nice back bead. It was prepared in a sacred manner.
