There is a wonderful array of colorful feathers on this pelt, including iridescent green, blue, yellow, red and different shades of brown with unique markings on different feathers on different parts of the bird’s body. This is an economic pelt to buy if you want many different colors of small feathers. There are hundreds of feathers on this pelt.

The pictures shown are representative. There may be slight variations in some pelts, but they all look basically the same. The thin skin makes it easy to tear portions into a pad for hat or fan decorating.

You get a wonderful array of textures in this pelt, which contains hundreds of feathers ranging in size from about 1 1/2″ up to 5″- 6″ ( 12.7cm to 15.24 cm) on the wing feathers. Most feathers average about 2″ to 4″ long and are around 3/4″ to 1″ wide.

Lady Amhurst pheasant feathers are also used in fly-tying for dozens of different fly patterns.  Lady Amherst feathers are wonderful working materials for salmon and steelhead flies.

They also make interesting earrings and other jewelry and are a quick start as pads on feather fans, masks, and wall hangings. They make beautiful decorated baskets and are stunning dreamcatcher feathers.
