Horse rawhide isn’t quite as thick as buffalo, but is a close substitute and costs quite a bit less. It is good for large hand drums, large pow wow drums, Eskimo drums, and much more.

The rawhide shown is for demonstrative purposes and may not be the actual rawhide you receive. You will receive one precut round in the diameter you choose. It will be suitable for making a drum head.

Please be aware when ordering drum kits or rawhide rounds, these come from range raised domestic animals, and will not be uniform in thickness or perfect in looks. There may be scarring, cut marks, and occasionally a hole near the edge of the round where it will not affect your drum.

Be assured we are sending you the best quality of rawhide and your drum will be your special work of art. Consider any tiny flaws as the spirit and story of that particular animal, and this is their spirit voice speaking once again.

Don’t forget to allow a few inches for attaching the drum head over your drum. (Allow the height of your drum plus at least another inch to attach the rawhide lacing.)
