This shaman's ceremonial rattle is made from a gourd and is decorated with feathers, fur, and horse hair. The overall length is approximately 12-16 inches.
The handle has two sections of dark fur with glass seed beads beaded in the midsection. Bead colors may vary from those shown. If you are ordering just one rattle and have a preference on bead colors, leave a 1st and 2nd choice for bead colors in the comment box on your order form.
If you are ordering multiple rattles, bead colors will be assorted, pulled randomly, depending on what bead colors we have on hand at the time.
The base of the handle is wrapped with black buckskin, and has buckskin fringes decorated with many glass crow beads at the end of the handle. Other fringes are decorated with glass crow beads and dyed turkey feathers and black coque feathers to simulate raven feathers.
There is a bundle of horse hair at the top of the rattle.
Because this item is a one-of-a-kind hand crafted piece, the pictures shown are representative, and the one you receive may vary slightly, as no two are exactly the same. The length is an estimate and may vary slightly. If you prefer a shorter handle, let us know in the comments on your order form.
We may make this ceremonial rattle when you order it, so allow up to a week for construction time on this craft, or up to 10 days at peak times like the Christmas shopping season.
