This buckskin warrior shield is approximately 20 inches in diameter and about 36 inches long. It is made with real deerskin and has lots of long fringes.

The focal points are a miniature breastplate made from real buffalo bone beads and a full sized pipe tomahawk replica. The pipe hawk handle has a section of seed beads and is wrapped with buckskin. The brass studs in the handle and exact shape of the hawk head may vary.

The war shield is decorated with horse hair, deer antler medallions, glass crow beads, glass tile beads, and/or brass beads and cones, and duck and turkey feathers.

In the old days, warriors carried shields to help deflect the blows of tomahawks, stone weapons, arrows, and knives. Today they make a great wall plaque or wall hanging for your native american or southwest home decor.
