Meaning of Stones

Created over millennia, healing crystals harness the life giving elements of the Earth and the universe.

Crystals are minerals formed underground from three-dimensional repeating patterns of atoms. A crystal's appearance depends upon the natural characteristics of its type and the conditions in which it grows.

Crystals and gemstones have amazing holistic healing abilities and can be used for many other applications such as meditation, quantum touch healing and reiki, as well as for chakra clearing and chakra balancing.

In this category, you will find a comprehensive list of all of the important healing crystals

Amber Metaphysical Properties and Care

Amber (pronounced AM-bur) is 50-million-year-old, fossilized tree sap (resin) from prehistoric pine forests. The pine trees are thought to have released the sap as a defense against fungus and insect infestation. The molecules in the sap cross-linked, eventually forming the natural “plastic” we know as amber today.

This amazing gemstone has been growing in popularity even as it becomes harder and harder to find.

Amethyst Metaphysical Properties and Design Uses

Amethyst (pronounced AM-eh-thihst) is one of the most common and popular gemstone materials. This variety of quartz ranges in color from deep purple to pale lavender depending on the presence of manganese and iron.

Amethyst is a naturally-occurring macrocrystalline (meaning large crystal formations) variety of quartz that usually grows on the inside of agate geodes. Geodes containing amethyst crystals are formed when clay, silt, sand or gravel are deposited and compacted by running water.

Ametrine Meaning and Physical Properties

Ametrine is a combination of amethyst and citrine, which are both a variety of quartz. Amethyst is clear quartz with the presence of manganese, making it purple. Citrine is clear quartz with the presence of iron, making it golden yellow.

Quartzes (such as amethyst, citrine, ametrine and others) have been around for years and make up approximately 12% of the Earth’s crust.
