These opaque glass crow beads are very similar to the kind and color of beads often used as trade beads in the 1600 to 1800s. The center holes are fairly uniform in this mix. They are comparable in size to the immitation plastic beads sold at craft stores under the trade name of pony beads. Opaque means they are a solid color that light does not pass through. Light blue was one of the most prized colors of the Sioux tribes.
