These translucent glass crow beads are very similar to the kind of beads often used as trade beads in the 1600 to 1800s. The center holes are fairly uniform in this mix. They are comparable in size to the imitation plastic beads sold at craft stores under the trade name of pony beads, although the correct name is crow beads.

Translucent means they are a semi-transparent color that lets some light through, giving them a very beautiful color.
