Description

This deer hoof rattle would be used in the Deer Dance. The base of the rattle is made from a deer shoulder blade bone, and the handle of this handmade artifact is a piece of river carved driftwood. It is joined to the shoulder blade with genuine deer rawhide.

The shoulderblade bone is painted on both sides with sacred symbols and aged with a special process to make it appear ancient. Every nuance of this deer rattle exudes the power of the deer and the forces of nature.

This deer hoof rattle has seven large deer hooves and 77 deer dew claws suspended on 30 deerskin fringes. It also has two pieces of deer antler and two deer molar teeth. There are four rifle shell casings holding four chukkar wing feathers.

deerThe base of this rattle is about 15″ long and 8 1/4″ wide across the widest part of the shoulder blade. The hoof fringes hang down about 12″ when held horizontally.

This deer rattle can be shipped internationally, however, check with your local customs office to be sure deer parts and chukkar (a kind of prairie grouse) feathers ca be imported to your country.
